The True Story of the Internet
This past weekend I came across a series on the Science Channel that I think every online business person or wannabe should watch.
Why? Because it very clearly and simply describes the technology we are using and how it started, what it took, how it works and maybe where it’s going. The beauty of this gig is that no one, even a decade later, knows where this gig is really going! There is something new literally around every corner!!
Another reason is that in each episode Internet adventurers (that’s what I call those who created sites like Amazon and eBaY) are profiled showing exactly how unique (at the time they were considered crazy) and dedicated they were to their visions. Yes, visions of where technology could take their ideas. They weren’t lemmings; they were leaders.
From the start back in the early1990s when I became hooked — I too had a vision. My vision told my gut how this new “connecting to other computers with a modem thing” would change our lives — and how we do business. Folks thought I was crazy too…
Make a point of trying to watch this series. It is an education we all need so that we too will understand where we’ve been, where we are at, why we are here and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get a crazy idea of where you want to go!

Enjoy!
