Having the Courage to Succeed

Times are tough for many of us on “Main Street” while Washington throws that term around as though they identify with us, feel our pain and are actually going to do something that directly effects our businesses and our life styles. I don’t believe it for a moment — nor should you.

We all have to have the courage to succeed in lieu of all the craziness around us. We simply cannot fall victim to the constant flood of doom and gloom the talking heads and the media throw at us. We can’t count on anyone but ourselves to reach our goals and make things happen. That is the American way after all!!

I love inspirational quotes and have them on almost every page of my site (my favorites are displayed in the top right hand corner). I really believe that when the right quote comes around at right time it can motivate, encourage and many times embolden people to be better than they assume they can be.

With that in mind, here are some of my favorite words of wisdom from the Napoleon Hill Foundation:

“The person who complains that he or she never had a chance probably hasn’t the courage to take a chance.

Thomas Edison once observed that the reason most folks don’t recognize opportunity when it comes along is that it is often dressed in coveralls and looks like work. Often opportunity involves a great deal of work and a willingness to take a chance on something, the outcome of which may be uncertain. Eventually you reach a point when you must either accept an opportunity with all of its unknowns or else turn your back on it. No one can tell you when you have reached that point; you alone know when it’s time to make your move, to have the courage to take a chance.”

This quote sums up the attitude one must have right now in either starting or maintaining a business online. You have to be willing to take that chance that you can prevail — and you will! There are no guarantees; nothing is in stone — even in the best of times.

Opportunities abound filled with unknowns that require a great deal of work. Now, we all have to work a little harder. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never shied away from hard work. Many times the only catalyst is having the courage to make things happen regardless of all the noise to the contrary surround you.

Let’s prove them wrong!

At your service,
Judith
