No Bailouts Here at The IStudio!

No Bailouts at The IStudioWARNING: THIS IS A RANT AND NOT FOR THE OVERLY SENSITIVE!

If you want to succeed at anything, you don’t sit on your hands and wait for someone or something else to make it happen. You certainly should not have the expectation that everyone around you is supposed to compensate for your lack of <insert here: experience, professionalism, budget, knowledge, solid business model, due diligence, etc.>.

Anyone who is successful online will tell you they’ve worked harder than they ever have and are committed to their success in such a way that they will do what they need to do, learn what they need to learn, invest where they need to invest to reach their goals. Online business is a no whining zone!

In the last several weeks, I’ve been contacted by site visitors almost on a daily basis asking what “deals” I can offer them for my services due to the economy. With all the talk of bail outs and hand outs, is it becoming in vogue to assume that the reality of what success requires in anything, whether it be life or business, is something that can now be negotiated or disregarded?

Below are a few of the actual comments I’ve received recently:

  • “I’m a start up so since I have very little budget, can you reconsider your package prices.” My response: If my most expensive package price of $575 is too expensive, you really should reconsider starting a new online enterprise. In the grand scheme of things that’s a drop in the hat!
  • “I’m willing to offer you $400 for your Platinum Package. Let me know if that works for you.” My response: None.
  • “Your fees are so much higher than others I’ve visited; I am sure you are worth it but can’t afford your fees. Is there something you can do about that?”My response: Clearly you are not comparing apples to apples. Based on my 15 years of successful and proven online experience, my fees are a value that will lead to ROI.
  • “Some of these detailed operations I can turn over to an excellent webmaster that I have and she is real inexpensive.” My response: If she is so excellent, I have to wonder why she is “real inexpensive”? Truly excellent webmasters can command more than I charge — especially for “detailed operations.”

Part of the problem in today’s environment is everyone wants something for nothing. They want the easy way that requires less work, commitment and sacrifice (and personal accountability).

Those who have never started or run a business before really have no idea what is involved in regard to time, expense and investment. So why is it that they assume they can then dictate what costs, education, knowledge and skills they are willing to incur and acquire while still expecting the best results? That’s an education thing we can thank our government schools for…

Those who do not value the experience and knowledge of partners they clearly need to compensate for their lack of both are doomed to failure. To start any business for under $1,000 is golden — to think it should be cheaper than half that is simply naive and reflects an overall lack of common sense and business savvy.

Yes, part of this is due to the over decade long hype and hooey about how easy it is to start an online business and get rich. But when did we loose the rationality that if it sounds to good to be true it is?

Here at The IStudio, I’ve never expected anyone to compensate for my lack of anything. I’ve learned what I needed and still do every day. I saved my money to start my business and continue investing in it to this day. The thought never crossed my mind to contact a provider and ask them to change a single thing based on my lack of anything.

You want to start a home based online business? Then, man up! If what you read on this site sounds too difficult or expensive, know you probably don’t have what it takes to survive. If you spend your time looking for hand outs, deals or discounts where there are none it is only because you are not prepared or up to the challenge that online business requires of all it’s participants.

So save your money and apply for one of those 4,000,000 jobs I hear are going to be available from the government.

At your service,
Judith
