WordPress Plugin: Advanced Ticket System Rocks!
You know how it goes… You have an idea for a new site or desire some added functionality on your current site. You look through the WordPress plugin archive and aren’t sure what plugins will do the job you need them to. So you install, activate, deactivate, install, activate deativate and then, as I’ve experienced, you throw your hands in the air and cry “Uncle” because you cannot find THE plugin that you need.
This was my experience when I was putting together my WordPress Girl Friday Support site. I knew I wanted an easy to use ticket system that worked well with WordPress — WordPress 3.0 specifically. All the plugins I spent my time installing, then deactivating, fell short in one way or another. Or, as is also common, I would go the WP plugin support page and find others were having the same problems. Rub salt into the wound; the plugin author was non-responsive or even MIA to address user concerns.
Then I came across the WordPress Advanced Ticket System. This plugin was exactly what I was looking for! The frosting on the cake was that I could see the plugin author was über responsive and helpful. Bonus!
WordPress Advanced Ticket System
Are you interested in adding a professional solution to your WordPress site that will allow you to interact with your customers? As I discovered, you can easily achieve this with the WordPress Advanced Ticket System plugin. WATS is a simple premium ticket system plugin for WordPress that is easy to install and configure.
On my WordPress Girl Friday Help site, I use this plugin to allow folks who just need some WordPress help here and there to submit a ticket and request my assistance. But you can use this system as a free support system that all site visitors/customers can use and contribute to or as a way of offering personalized support to compliment your paid for services and offerings. The sky is the limit on how you can use this plugin to engage current, new or soon to be customers and site visitors.
Ticket Submission Options
WATS has a lot of features to give you flexibility in integrating this plugin to meet your needs. Most importantly, the ticket submission process can be performed in three different ways:
- through the Admin (with a registered user or with the shared guest user feature for visitors)
- through the frontend (with or without a registered user)
- through e-mail
You can define whether you want users to be able to view all tickets or just their own. You also have control over if users need to be registered or not to view tickets.
WordPress Advanced Ticket System Features:
- Ticket Notification: When a new ticket is submitted, Admins can get a notification. When a ticket is updated, a notification is sent as well. You can also set rules (based on priority, type and status) for initial ticket notification.
- Ticket Assignation: You can set the ticket owner at each step of the ticket’s life cycle.
- Ticket Keys: For each ticket, you can set priority, status and type which you can then update during a ticket’s life cycle as the priority and status evolves.
- Ticket Numbering: A number is assigned to each ticket to allow you to keep a unique ID for each ticket.
- Ticket Listing: You can insert a ticket listing anywhere on your site that can be filtered and sorted.
While this is a premium plugin, it is worth every penny of the $70 the author is requesting. I can hear some of you out there…. “It isn’t free?” For me, I knew what functionality I desired and I had found it — with support to boot! To be honest, after all the time I spent trying and deactivating/deleting all the other options out there, I wish I’d found WATS sooner.
Not only is the plugin rock solid — you’d be hard pressed to find more friendly, timely and knowledgable support. Time for everyone to start putting more value on that alone as far as I’m concerned!
So, if you are looking for a ticket system to integrate with your WordPress site, no need to look any further or waste your time on freebies that disappoint. WordPress Advanced Ticket System is the way to go!
At your service,
Judith

Hi Judith,
thank you very much for this post. I am actually looking for a decent ticket and support system that plays well with WP3. I have come across WATS, too.
It seems to integrate well. It’s not a mircle from a design point of view but that’s okay, I could boost it with css and my own templates.
Though, I have a big problem with WATS. Its web site doesn’t tell me anything about its author or producer. Not a country, not even a name or an e-mail address. Now what kind of serious business is that?
It’s sad, I was about to purchase a license. But I don’t do business with people who are not playing with open cards.
Kindest regards
Sebastian F.
Hey, Sebastian:
Thank you for stopping by! The developer is Olivier who resides in France. I have worked with him closely and have no doubt in regard to his seriousness or legitimacy. As a matter of fact he has offered me better and more conscientious support than many companies that may fit your definition.
Plugin developers are programmers (not business people) who are just regular guys and gals who create remarkable complex plugins. The amount they charge is to help defray/recoup the time-cost spent on developing and supporting these applications and is a drop in the bucket when compared to what it would cost for you to have such an application created for you from scratch.
I do agree the basic information you mention should be visible and will bring that to Olivier’s attention. Being I only recommend products I have used myself on my own sites, I am sorry that my positive recommendation was not enough for you to purchase a license that will support the future development of this much needed plugin.
Thanks for your review, I am like you spent some time searching for a good support plugin and when I found this plugin I was so pleasantly surprised. Also wanted to 2nd the friendly/fast customer support.
I had a question about adding some variables to the support form that users submit so I could get additional data and Oliver responded to my twice in the same day, the 2nd time the hook that I needed to included in the functions.php file was included in his email (he wrote this code and sent it to me before I even purchased the plugin!)
Hey, Sam:
Thank you for sharing your great experience with WATS! Olivier does go above and beyond the call of duty in supporting the much needed plugin. Not all plugin developers offer that level of support for their products. I hope more folks support his ongoing efforts by purchasing his plugin. Instant ROI as far as I am concerned. ;-)
