Are You Online to Win?
Why are you online? To win? Or because you have to? My experience shows a majority are the latter, not the former.
Is your program up to date and current? Or are you in the wayback machine because you don’t want to deal with technology and therefore have yourself convinced that your outmoded static site is acceptable? When faced with the option or opportunity to get up to speed are you open to new concepts or do you defend your status quo?
Time to stop kidding yourself; that is if you want to win!
If you want to be inspired and understand the true gut and heart of marketing and branding you just have to subscribe to Seth Godin’s Blog. I’ve followed Seth for years, have read his books and can attest that his guidance and wisdom is certainly part of my success.
Seth has a way of cutting through the fog and marketing-speak and getting right to the crux of the matter. Whether you like what he says or not — he’s spot on! With his own unique style and forthrightness, his posts inspire me and challenge me.
Today’s post ended with…
….organize to win. To do anything else is a waste of your time, your talent and your momentum. Ignore apparent risk, buy the assets you need to matter, avoid the compromises that your competitors have made and do something worth doing.
The statement above is how you should view your Web program. Are you doing something worth doing or are you just going through the motions? Don’t be a lemming and do what everyone else is doing for that reason alone. That’s how you will end up making the same mistakes your competitors will.
Don’t look at your Web program as something you have to do so you do so with the least amount of effort necessary and “as cheap as possible.” That attitude is not that of a winner — a true competitor — someone who wants to dominate and be thought of as a leader in their field or industry.
All too often online businesses underestimate the competitiveness of the online environment. They shortchange their online program and the company’s good will in the process.
If you have your business online, do it right and do it to win!
At your service,
Judith
